commiserations on your procmail - an all too common thing :-)
the Default Language stuff was put in as "for use in emergencies".
It's a deficency of X.500 directories that it does not show a good
way to indicate the "main" value of an attribute; in the example
you show, the Right Thing is obviously:
Name;lang-en;main: Information Center
Name;lang-fr-CA: Centre Informatique
No language "i-default" in there anywhere; using Default Language
in this situation would obviously be the Wrong Thing to do.
But when generating an error message in Default Language, you may
very well have to generate (imagining that "main" was on the other one above):
Error;lang-i-default: Please call the Centre Informatique
That is, pick out a name marked "main" for use in text in another language.
I think there are no silver bullets here, and only working hard on
implementing stuff will give us some answers about what we REALLY need.
