As Mark just pointed out, http://www.iana.org/assignments/character-sets says
"The character set names may be up to 40 characters taken from ..."
However, I count
45 characters: Extended_UNIX_Code_Packed_Format_for_Japanese
43 characters: Extended_UNIX_Code_Fixed_Width_for_Japanese
Is this limit intended to be enforced?
Is there intended to be an actual, enforced, limit? 45? 50?
For some data structures it would be useful to have some upper limit.
